Privacy policy
Effective August 28, 2026. This policy covers pdfaccessibilitycheck.com and the scanning service it provides. The short version: we collect very little, we never store your documents, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.
What we collect
If you scan a website or check a PDF: the domain name you enter, and the document you upload or the documents publicly linked on the site you point us at. Uploaded and crawled documents are analyzed in memory and never written to disk — when the analysis ends, the document is gone from our systems. Scan results are held in server memory under a random identifier and are automatically discarded within about an hour.
If you leave your email address: we use it to send you the scan results you asked for, and we may follow up about the assessment service those results relate to. That is the only use. We do not add you to any list you did not ask for, and we do not share or sell your address.
If you purchase an assessment: payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's handling of your payment details is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
What we do not do
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not run third-party analytics scripts. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not store the documents we analyze — this is a deliberate design decision, because the documents belong to the governments that publish them and to the people they serve.
Service providers
Email is delivered through Resend, Inc. (our email provider) and the site is hosted on Render, Inc. Both process data on our behalf only, under their own security and privacy commitments.
Server logs
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (IP address, page requested, time) for security and troubleshooting. These are retained briefly and are not used to profile visitors.
Your choices
Every email we send that is not a direct reply includes a way to stop further email with one click. You can also write to us at any time to ask what we hold about you (usually: an email address, at most) or to have it deleted: use the contact address below.
Children
The service is directed at government staff and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
